Narrative

FLAP Canada’s 2026 Annual Bird Layout

FLAP Canada would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2026 Bird Layout event. This deeply moving and thought-provoking occasion, hosted at Feather Friendly, showcased some 3,000 birds that sadly lost their lives due to collisions with buildings throughout the Greater Toronto Area in 2025. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff worked tirelessly to collect, document, and arrange these birds for educational and research purposes.

The extensive data we’ve gathered sheds light on the detrimental impact of urban architecture on bird populations. This is a call to action for all us all to do our part by making our buildings safe for birds.
